RMWDA 2010
Event Information

The 2010 RMWDA Conference is Colorado's premier learning, networking, and professional development event for workforce development professionals and their partners. The Colorado Workforce Centers, in concert with the Colorado Workforce Development Council, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, and the Colorado Department of Human Services, will host a robust program of keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities designed to enhance skills, foster partnerships, highlight best practices, and promote innovation.
WORKSHOP TRACKS
Targeted Populations: Diversity is the keystone of the rich
tapestry that is the human experience. This track offers strategies for
working with people from all walks of life. Possible topics may
include: working with youth, veterans, people with disabilities, etc.
Work-Life Balance: Personal wellness is the all-too-often
overlooked side of the critical work-life balance we all strive to
achieve. Workshops in this track will offer ideas for stress
management, time management, having fun at work, etc.
Business Services: How can the workforce system better align
with businesses to achieve our common goals? This track seeks to
improve our ability to serve one of our most important customers:
employers. Workshops on economic development, sector strategies, and
working with employers are a good fit here.
Outreach/Advocacy: What do we want the general public to know
about our work? How do we highlight and showcase our successes? From
developing your elevator speech, to branding your workforce center,
this track will help participants become effective advocates for
workforce development programs in their community.
Professional Development: This track will allow workforce
development practitioners and professionals to update their toolkit
with useful knowledge and skills they need to be successful.
Leadership: For Directors, WIB members, and elected officials.
Best Practices: Colorado Department of Labor and Employment
(CDLE) and the Rocky Mountain Workforce Development Association (RMWDA)
would like to acknowledge your dedication and passion to continually
improving and creating effective programs, systems, and processes. The
most direct route to promoting innovation and improvement is to learn
from examples of the best. This year the Best Practice Symposium will
be incorporated into the RMWDA conference to offer an even greater
audience for your presentations.
