Focus:The summit will bring together area business leaders, faith-based and community organizations, and regional workforce centers for a strategy session designed to meet the needs of area businesses for work-ready and competent employees. Summit participants will hear about successful partnerships with employers leading to English or adult education classes that helped employers in various ways.
What you will learn:
- Best practice models in work-based education
- Advanced training in preparing struggling populations for work, assisting struggling populations with job searches, and providing effective retention support
- How to collaborate and make effective referrals to the workforce system
- Information about local and state public and private funding for workforce development activities and information about appropriate uses of government funding
- A dialogue and plan of action for Central Texas employers and literacy service providers
What Employers will take away from the Summit:
*How work-based education and training can increase retention and enhance opportunities for recruitment of employees.
*Partnerships available to you with local adult education programs
Information about available funding to offer free programs at your work site

Why a donation to Goodwill?
With your donation, we are able to use Goodwill’s facilities at a reduced cost. We pass the savings on to you by having a nominal registration fee. Please bring your tax-deductible donation on the day of meeting.
Donation items in good repair that are most needed:
• Clothing of any kind
• Shoes
• Accessories
• Books, CD’s, DVD’s, Tapes, Records
• Small Furniture
• Collectable items
• Jewelry and antiques
• Household items (dishes, knick-knacks, house wares, etc.)
• Linens
• Electrical items (radios, televisions in working order, clocks, lamps etc.)
• Toys and children’s items
• Computers and related materials
Electronic Recycling
Goodwill recycles electronic equipment through our Computer Works store and we welcome the following items at our donation centers.
• Computer systems (monitor, hard drive, keyboard and printer)
• cell phones
• cds, dvds
Items that Goodwill can’t accept:
Household items such as stoves, refrigerators, washers/dryers or any other large appliance
Extremely worn or soiled furniture
Building materials
Mattresses and box springs
Hazardous materials, chemicals, paint etc.
Copy machines
Automotive parts
